Swallow Creek Ranch Wedding in Cayucos, California

This past Saturday, July 9th, 2022, we were so pumped to photograph Kerry and Michael’s stunning Swallow Creek Ranch wedding! It was such an incredible, sunny day on the Central Coast. Kerry and Michael are the absolute sweetest and we adore them and all their loved ones. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and fun. How lucky are we to photograph their love RIGHT on the coast of California? Talk about a perfect backdrop!

How Kerry and Michael Met!

Kerry and Michael met in high school, and became acquaintances. Michael thought she was very talkative, and she thought he was very quiet. They had many classes together throughout high school and got to know each other more. Their friends were kind of in a group, so they started doing more and more together in group settings. Then, they went off to college. Kerry in Southern California (Thousand Oaks) and Michael in Northern California (Berkeley)!

During sophomore year, they started to text more and played games on their phones against each other, like Connect 4 and Trivia Crack. During the breaks at home they would hang out more – without their friends as well. They went to the movies and saw CHIPS. Then, a few months later, they got boba and talked. Michael was going back to Berkeley and Kerry wasn’t sure what to do, so she had the DTR (define the relationship) talk.

The DTR Talk Worked!

They decided to try out officially dating to see how it would go long distance. They visited one another that next year and a half back and forth. Then, at the end of senior year, Kerry decided to study abroad in London! This was a much more difficult long distance, but they made it work! Michael was able to visit during his Spring Break for 9 days, and they went to Italy, London, and Greece!

After Kerry returned home from London, they both graduated. Michael moved to SF and Kerry moved in with her parents to complete her Masters at Cal Poly.

Then… COVID happened. Michael decided to move home for a bit since he could work from home. They were able to spend a lot of time with one another and their families. One of their favorite things to do when they were home was to pick up dinner and head to the beach with a bottle of wine or beer and enjoy the sunset.

The Proposal!

Michael decided this was the perfect way to propose, and on July 2, 2020 he showed Kerry a video of their time together and asked her to marry him. Obviously, she said YES!! That next week, they moved in together in San Francisco and have been busy planning and enjoying life up there! They just celebrated our 5 year dating anniversary where I asked Michael to “DTR,” and this past Saturday, they tied the knot!
