It’s not often that we get to capture engagement photos in SoCal,
but last month, we were lucky enough to photograph Lauren and Josh in Palos Verdes! Their Southern California engagement shoot was absolutely stunning and provided the perfect opportunity to travel outside of the Central Coast.
How Lauren and Josh met…
In 2009, Lauren went to the beach to meet up with some friends for a wedding themed bar crawl (foreshadowing!). While she doesn’t remember meeting Josh that day, he definitely remembered her. After that night, they met a few more times in passing. However, it wasn’t until a “Sunday Funday” a few weeks later that they really got to spend some time together.
That day, after they made brunch and listened to lots of Tom Petty, Josh finally got her number. Then, he asked her on a date! It wasn’t long before they were in a “long distance” relationship (West Hollywood to Hermosa Beach). Eventually, they moved in together in Manhattan Beach and adopted another cat, becoming a family of four.
Josh and Lauren share a love of adventure (as you’ll see from their photos below). They’ve been able to travel around the world together making memories and drinking wine!
The Proposal!
Paso Robles is such a special area to Josh and Lauren, and they’ve been visiting there for years. Because of this, it seemed like the perfect place for a proposal. On a visit to the Central Coast, Josh proposed to Lauren at Parrish Winery while they were wine tasting! It would only make sense for them to get married in Paso too, so they’re tying the knot at Niner Wine Estates this year!

YGP’s Associate Photographer, Sierra, will be capturing Lauren and Josh’s wedding day (and shot the engagement photos below!). Josh and Lauren are easy-going, adventurous, and so personable. Sierra has absolutely loved the time she’s been able to spend with them! They chose Palos Verdes for their engagement photos since they know the area so well, and we truly can’t imagine a more stunning backdrop. We are so honored to be a part of Lauren and Josh’s love story, and CANNOT WAIT to watch them say their “I Do’s” next month!
