The Venue
Right at the heart of downtown, the San Luis Obispo wedding venue The Penny is the perfect location for your fun wedding! The 3,000 square foot venue features an industrial, modern indoor space, as well as an outdoor courtyard. The space is available to rent for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and cocktail hours.
The 2,000+ square foot indoor space can accommodate 125 seated and 300 standing guests. Additionally, the venue offers a bar, an onsite event manager, security, and wifi. What more could you possibly need!
Built in the 1930s as a blacksmith shop, the venue showcases the historic architecture with exposed brick and industrial fixtures. The space is unique, cozy, and welcoming!

As one of the only wedding rental spaces in downtown San Luis Obispo, the central location allows walking-distance access to SLO’s best restaurants, bars, and modern hotels. This makes it ideal for couples looking for plenty to do before and after their wedding.
In addition to this, Downtown SLO also hosts a phenomenal farmers’ market on Thursday nights, right on Higuera Street! It’s definitely worth getting to town a few days early to hit the market before your weekend plans.
