Terry and Kirk refused for one second to be phased by all that was going on in the world and how it affected their wedding plans. Coronavirus, random thunderstorms, and quarantined sons were just a few of the problems they dodged gracefully. The two were married on a warm August day at Flying Caballos Ranch in San Luis Obispo surrounded by their family, friends, and dogs!
Terry got ready for the day in the water tower at Flying Caballos with her pup and Maid of Honor by her side, while Kirk and his sons got ready in the cottage on the property. Kirk’s oldest son was originally placed in mandatory quarantine and was not going to be able to make the wedding, but his brother and uncle drove through the night to make sure he was at the wedding. He surprised Kirk as they were getting ready and left everyone in tears.
Terry and Kirk shared an intimate first look before joining the rest of their bridal party and guests for a cocktail hour before the ceremony. Everyone enjoyed the shade outside Flying Caballos’ Farmhouse, live music by Moonshiner Collective,Copper & Crystal’s service, and appetizers from the Avila Valley Barn before taking their seats to witness Terry & Kirk’s light-hearted ceremony.
Married by one of their close friends, Terry and Kirk shared sweet, humorous vows that reflected little details and inside jokes from their relationship. Following their ceremony, everyone headed down to Flying Caballos’ barn for more live music, drinks, and appetizers. Guests relaxed in a number of Avenue 12 lounges before Terry & Kirk joined the party. The two officially kicked off their reception with their first dance, before moving the party inside for dinner served by Avila Valley Barn.
The night featured a blessing by Terry & Kirk, as well as toasts by their Best Man, Maid of Honor, Man of Honor, one of Terry’s former professors, and Kirk’s son. The lively evening quickly erupted into dancing, with Terry and Kirk sneaking off to catch the gorgeous sunset. Terry & Kirk’s Flying Caballos wedding was as laid back as they are, full of laughter, love, and excitement as two families officially came together.
