A Festive Persian Wedding at the Adamson House
Chris and Maysa’s Malibu wedding at the Adamson House was nothing short of spectacular! Based on their family heritage the two chose to have a Persian wedding ceremony. Persian weddings are rich in tradition that date back thousands of years. If you have never been to one you are truly missing out! First let us explain a little history behind all these beautiful images.
In Persian tradition a wedding is a joyous occasion that is meant to be celebrated. Of course, most cultures feel the same but the Persian culture takes it to the next level! During the ceremony the bride and groom sit beneath a table cloth held above them by female family members. A table of symbolic items is set out in front of them. Some of the items include: candles, a mirror, special foods, a bowl of gold coins, rose water, and spices. All of these items have special meaning in the Persian culture. One of the most interesting traditions is when a member from the family rubs to blocks of sugar over the bride and groom’s head to represent sweetness in their life together.
Maysa and Chris definitely went all out! We loved how the two combined their culture with their current life-style and opted for an outdoor wedding under the California sun. There were so many beautiful details about this wedding! We loved the display of the traditional foods and the gorgeous table set-up with tons of flowers and candles. But of course, in true Persian fashion, the reception was a non-stop dance party! Maysa and Chris were such a fun couple, and we loved every minute of their sweet wedding.
